Two young women from Woodburn High School recently decided to use their Senior Projects to make a difference in the lives of Love INC client families. We are so fortunate to have these exemplary young women in this community and contributing to meet the needs of the people here.
Sarahi’s project was collecting gently used and new blankets to give to individuals and families in our community. “When Sarahi showed up with an assortment of mostly new bedding and lap blankets of different shapes, sizes, and colors, we were delighted,” said Love INC Volunteer Coordinator, Judy Schmoll. Love INC was chosen and asked to distribute the blankets to people in need. Blankets and bedding are in high demand and move quickly through Love INC’s BBK (Bed, Bath & Kitchen) inventory and Homeless Corner.
Madison’s project involved collecting quarters for the Love INC’s Loads of Love laundry ministry that provides laundry vouchers for Love INC client families who do not have the resources they need to do laundry. Thanks to a generous monthly grant of quarters by a local business owner and matching donations of up to $800/month, Love INC volunteers help dozens of families with access to laundry services. Madison’s fundraising efforts resulted in a generous contribution of nearly 1,800 quarters ($450), which will help 28 families wash and dry their clothes in coming months.
On behalf of the many Love INC clients and families that will benefit from the efforts of these two young women, we offer sincere thanks to Sarahi and Madison for meeting needs, serving people, and making a difference. May the kindness and generosity you have shown to others illumine your path and open doors that enhance your future and bless your lives as you have blessed ours.
Thank you for setting a shining example for the many students who will follow in your footsteps in the future. We are grateful you chose to partner with Love INC to make your Senior Project count.
